Comments: I am not sponsored by Daiwa, I just truly believe they have the best inshore equipment on the market today. I own 8 Ballistc Lt's both the 3000 and 4000 sizes. I fish these reels 5 to 6 matched up to Daiwa Procyon Inshore rods at least 5 days a week, year round. They perform flawlessly and are one of the lightest and out of the box smoothest reels available. Accomplished fisherman or weekend angler you owe to yourself to purchase one of these reels and fish like a pro!

Comments: I was given the 3000 model as a git and use it for casting 6lb fluorocarbon for spy baits and drop shoting. Excellent line handling without twist or tangles with ultra light baits. If anything is even smoother than my Shimano Stradic C14. Very excellent competition for the latter with stronger drag and also being light and tough as the name implies.

Comments: I have the BLST1000D spinning reel model with Mean Green 8lb. test line paired with a Daiwa Steez 6'8' ML SVF Compile-X spinning rod. First of all this reel is so smooth and light weight and cast line like a bullet!!!!!! BE CAREFUL so you don't cast to the moon. The reel has yet to fail me. The drag system reel bail is so easy to operate. No line twist at all ( Note all reels must be properly spooled to avoid this) but reel designs do help which this reel does. Second this reel paired with the Steez Is A Perfect match. I have been a Daiwa rod/reel, McCoy line fan for years. They have yet to make me think else. To all you fisherman out there, I highly recommend this reel. Yes it's a little pricey but like the old saying goes ' YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR '. This is 100% true with this setup. Third I personally what to say thank you to Tackle Warehouse, Daiwa, McCoy line for providing such great products to myself and fisherman alike. Hats off to all of you. Tight lines everyone!

Comments: I got this reel 2 walleye jig with & love it. What a well designed piece of equipment. Daiwa hit another home run with the lite & tough line of reels. I have a Tatula too & love it as well. Lite & powerful with a precision feel to them. I was jigging off a bridge & hooked a 6 pound Smallmouth & had only one option to bring it up & over or loose my jig & the bass. So i just bit the bullet & reeled it up. LOL.The reel handled it with no problems at all. I would recommend buying a Daiwa ballistic to anyone interested in getting an awesome reel. I have Daiwa reels exclusively on all of my rods. I've had a few Shimanos & Pfluegers but seem to come back to Daiwa. I have over 20 set ups/ / outfits & always seem to pick one with a daiwa on it. The ballistic is such a sweet reel that i cant seem to put it down.

Comments: Well I waited a while to get this reel. I actually ordered a 6000 which I don't think you can get on here but I'll still do the review. My first impressions were wow to the weight of the reel. Also the smoothness of the handle turn. Due to the weight of the reel I was assured that there would be flex so I was worried about snook fishing which I bought the reel for. So I gave it chance anyways and took it to the pier. Caught all kinds of fish on it, snook, blue runners, snapper, mackerel, Jack's, etc. And no flex, and no problems. This thing is real deal. It's as good on water as it is on paper. I'm going to order a couple 4000s for bass fishing now.

Comments: I have both the 5000 and 6000 reels, I have used them fishing for tarpon in the Everglades (saltwater), they are very light, smooth, and have a very good drag. I have caught about 50 tarpon on them so far up to 125 pounds and they have stood up well. I would give them the edge over both the Quantum Cabo's and Shimano Stradic reels. Drag is as good as the Cabo and reels as smooth as the Stradic, while being lighter. I am using them with a DOA baitbuster, that I cast and reel for 12 plus hours a day, so being smooth and light is very important and having a drag that can stand up to a 100 pound plus tarpon. While I have put well over a hundred hours on both reels, more time will be the real test.
