These later formats encoded 6 bits per byte, so they were no longer 'hex' at all. Coincidentally, Yves has also written a TRS-80 emulator for the Mac. So the format is now quite different, and the new converter programs share no code with the original; nothing is left of my poor little TRS-80 program. I have been using MESS and other various emulators for many years but Mac OS support seems to come and go, at times it has being strong (simple installs and clear documentation) and then it will fall off as people lose interest and the ports and front ends start breaking. It feels like we are in one of those lulls now. The Mozilla project later rebranded the browser portion as Firefox and the email client as Thunderbird. In addition to these, the Mozilla Foundation still distributes a full suite, branded as Seamonkey, Sunbird and Lightning, which are calendaring apps, and a Mac-optimized browser with a Cocoa interface called Camino. With Physical Layout the emulator is set up so TRS-80 keys are activated by PC keys in roughly the same relative position on the keyboard. Most of the symbols on your keyboard will correspond to the same key on the TRS-80. The letters, numbers, arrow keys and Enter will do what you expect and!#$%. Are in the same spot, otherwise. Images for the virtual desktop are now being preloaded into RAM. When this is complete, you will be presented with the desktop and be able to browse all.
